A smarter alternative to the official GitHub Slack app
The official GitHub Slack app buries your PRs in noise. PullNotifier sends only what matters, to the channels that care — with per-repo routing and reviewer-only pings.

Why teams switch from the official GitHub app
The official app subscribes a channel to a repo as a whole with /github subscribe owner/repo. On an active repo that means every PR, issue, and comment lands in the channel — for everyone. Filtering is limited to branch filters for commits and a single required label filter per repository.
There's no rule-based routing by author, team, or multiple labels, and no way to ping only the requested reviewer. So teams mute the channel — and PRs sit unreviewed. PullNotifier routes each repo to the right channel, filters events per repo, and notifies only the people who need to act.

What PullNotifier does better
Per-repo channel routing
Frontend PRs go to #frontend. Backend PRs go to #backend. Route each repository to one channel or several — no slash commands to maintain in every channel.
Smart filtering, configurable per repo
Review requests, approvals, changes requested, CI pass/fail, merge conflicts, merged and closed — pick exactly which events each repo posts, instead of everything or nothing.
Reviewer-only pings
When someone requests your review, you get pinged — not the whole channel. Personal notifications go to the people involved, so nobody mutes the channel.
Daily reminders and stale-PR alerts
A daily digest of open PRs waiting on review, plus alerts when a PR goes stale — so nothing slips through the cracks.
Where the official app is the better choice
It's free and first-party. If you only need a basic activity feed for one or two quiet repos and don't care about routing or noise, the official GitHub Slack app is fine — and its scheduled reminders (inherited from Pull Panda) are genuinely useful. PullNotifier exists for teams that outgrew it.

My team thanked me for finding this tool
“Code reviews were something we struggled with and this slack app helped a lot with helping our team be more organized. It also allows you to map repositories to different slack channels, very useful for us (a team of 100+ engineers) working on different repostories and teams.”

★★★★★
“The best thing about this integration is that it doesn't spam your Slack Channel. It updates the message in place unlike the official github integration w/c adds a new message everytime the PR changes.”

Great solution and responsive company
“Very easy to integrate, we've replaced our other various ways of getting notified about pull requests with PullNotifier and it's been excellent. The company is super responsive, turning around feature requests very quickly and committed to making a great, useful product. We've now rolled it out across out whole tech team, with different teams able to configure exactly how they want to be notified for their repositories. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.”

Game changer
“It covers 99.9% of PR workflows while keeping slack notifications targeted to only those who need it. The other 0.1% of edge cases is quickly shrinking as they have responded to feature requests super quickly.”

Great tool, but the team is even better
“This tool provides a very convenient way to monitor all PRs in an organization. Simply create a channel, connect PullNotifier to it, and you will be notified of every PR. The status of the PR changes smoothly in the same massage, so there's not a lot of noise from it, which is very important. But what I like most about PullNotifier is how quickly I get feedback from them when I encounter an issue. Love it!”
